The Europa-Union Luxembourg looks back on a thoroughly successful event with its honorary member Prof. Dr. Heinrich Kreft. Despite the short notice, it was possible to bring together 25 participants on a sunny Friday afternoon, nearly reaching the full capacity of the venue.
The focus of the evening was on current geopolitical challenges and the question of where Europe is heading in an increasingly uncertain world. Prof. Kreft addressed in particular the implications of the war in Ukraine and the developments in the Middle East, placing them in a broader European context. The discussion made clear how strongly these conflicts are shaping Europe’s security and foreign policy, and highlighted the strategic responses that will be required in the future.
The event took place in a semi-private area of the Marriott Hotel Alfa, providing a pleasant setting for exchange and discussion. Even before the lecture, around ten participants met with Prof. Kreft to discuss a planned excursion to Berlin. Two additional interested participants joined virtually and also expressed strong interest in taking part.
The lecture itself was met with great interest and was followed attentively by the audience. During the subsequent dinner in a smaller group, discussions continued in a more personal atmosphere. The conversations were marked by engaging insights and lively exchanges.
Particularly noteworthy was the excellent service provided by the team at the Marriott Hotel Alfa, whose commitment clearly contributed to the success of the event.
The Europa-Union Luxembourg would like to sincerely thank Prof. Dr. Heinrich Kreft for his visit and valuable insights, as well as all participants for their interest and for making the evening such a success.
