Let’s talk about Europe!”: Discussion on Space Security and Hybrid Threats in Luxembourg

On 25 February 2026, more than 50 participants gathered for the event series “Let’s talk about Europe!” to discuss the growing importance of space security and hybrid threats. Organized together with the Diplomatic Council and JEF Luxembourg, the event brought together diplomacy, academia and civil society. Moderated by Jochen M. Richter – co-editor of the book Space Security – distinguished speakers from Poland, Ukraine and the University of Luxembourg provided insights into current geopolitical challenges. Due to strong interest, the event was fully booked, and the series is expected to continue on 11 May 2026.

As part of the event series “Let’s talk about Europe!”, we hosted a discussion on 25 February 2026 together with the Diplomatic Council and JEF Luxembourg, focusing on space security and hybrid threats. The event was held in English.

The topic was proposed by our member Jochen M. Richter (founder of JMR Interconnect and former Director at the European Parliament), who organized the event together with our chairman Stefan Kohler. As co-editor of the book Space Security, which was also presented during the event, Jochen M. Richter also moderated the discussion.

With the Polish chargé d’affaires a.i. and the President of the Ukrainian community in Luxembourg (LUkraine a.s.b.l.), we were able to welcome two representatives from countries that are directly threatened or have been attacked by Russia. Prof. Anna-Lena Högenauer from the University of Luxembourg provided valuable context for the current situation and contributed her extensive expertise to what was once again a highly distinguished event.

The room was very well filled with more than 50 participants, and due to limited capacity we unfortunately had to turn away additional interested guests. Numerous questions were raised by the audience, and these discussions continued during the reception that followed the event.

The “Let’s talk about Europe!” event series is expected to continue at the same venue on 11 May 2026.
