Let’s talk about Europe! Migration and the Future of the EU

The Europa-Union Luxembourg continued its “Let’s talk about Europe!” series with a high-profile event on migration. With expert speakers Gerald Knaus and Anne Calteux, the evening provided clear insights into current developments, challenges, and potential solutions. Under the moderation of Stefan Kohler, a lively and open exchange with the audience emerged—an important contribution to a fact-based debate on one of Europe’s most pressing issues. The series will continue on 22 January 2026.

The Europa-Union Luxembourg does not shy away from “hot topics” in its event series “Let’s talk about Europe!”. With renowned migration expert Gerald Knaus (European Stability Initiative, Berlin) and Anne Calteux (Head of the European Commission Representation in Luxembourg), two highly qualified speakers were invited to present different perspectives on the topic of migration.

In addition to the Migration Pact currently being negotiated in Brussels and Strasbourg, the discussion also covered the major challenges and possible solutions. Under the moderation of Stefan Kohler, Chairman of the Europa-Union Luxembourg, questions from the audience were incorporated as well.

It became clear to everyone present that constructive solutions are needed to take the wind out of the sails of Europe’s populist opponents. The large hall of the Foyer Européen was very well attended, and participants continued their lively discussions even after the event concluded.
